- On Wednesday, you implement Day 3 of Dialogic Reading. Again, you can remind the children that they have read and discussed this book, and now you are going to talk about some more of the illustrations.
- During Day 3, you ask the same types of questions that you asked on Tuesday (Day 2).
- You might also incorporate some recall questions, (e.g., “Remember, we talked about this picture yesterday, what is this?”).
- You continue asking the children “Wh” questions (e.g., Who, What, Where), both individually and chorally, to ensure that the children are learning the vocabulary.
- If the children do not know the vocabulary in the book, it will make it more difficult for them to expand on it in the next steps.
- Give the children ample practice with labeling and finding out the function, color or shape of objects before moving on to the next day.
What questions could you ask about the function, color, or shape of the illustrations
in your book? Roll over the book to see more information. |
The next video clip will show an overview of Day 2 and Day 3 of the Dialogic Reading lesson.
