Welcome
to the third and final unit of the VPK Director Credential
Course. This unit is designed to help you understand
the Florida VPK laws and the infrastructure that supports
the VPK program, understand the policies and procedures
developed to implement VPK, and examine and be aware
of the roles and responsibilities of each agency involved
in the program.
This unit will provide you with an overview of the statutes and codes that guide the VPK program. It is important for you to understand the legislation that has guided policy development, as well as the infrastructure that has been designed to support the VPK program at your facility. This unit will provide you with contact information for each agency. Supports exist to assist you in creating quality VPK programs.
Unit Objectives/Competencies
To manage legal obligations and financial responsibilities in VPK settings, VPK directors will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- know the Florida laws that address VPK programs and the infrastructure that supports them
- understand VPK policies and procedures
- understand the legal and financial responsibilities of and accountability measures for VPK providers.
