Successful Transition from VPK into Kindergarten

Prior to the end of the VPK program, you will be assisting your staff, families, and the children in the transition process to kindergarten. Remember that the primary purpose for VPK is to prepare children for a successful kindergarten experience.
The focus of this section is to share strategies you can use to prepare children and their families as they move from your VPK program into kindergarten. There are many things you can do to make a smooth and seamless transition. This section will discuss best practices and give you practical suggestions that can be easily implemented in your program. As you complete the self-assessment, reflect on the strategies you currently have in place and those that you wish to develop.
