Rule 6A-6.040, Florida Administrative Code (FAC), prescribes the requirements for a VPK director credential. To receive the credential the applicant must:

• hold a current DCF director credential
• complete a DOE-approved training on VPK Education Standards
• complete a DOE-approved course on emergent literacy
• completion of the DOE-approved course(s) about the Voluntary Prekindergarten Director Credential". Upon completion of these requirements, the applicant must submit the VPK Director Credential Endorsement Application before the Director Credential Endorsement is awarded
